Bobi Wine stands by his Toyota Land Cruiser V8 Registration Number UBJ 667F
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has recalled Robert Kyagulanyi’s motor vehicle-Toyota Land Cruiser V8 Registration Number UBJ 667F.
In a leaked letter dated February 24, 2021 to the Kyadondo East MP, Abel Kagumire, the Commissioner Customs at URA says that while the vehicle was declared to Customs vide Customs Reference UGCWH C54 dated 12th January 2021 and subsequently cleared and registered, an new inquiry has found out that the vehicle was declared as an ordinary motor vehicle instead of an armored motor vehicle.
According to the letter, this meant that the vehicle was undervalued at Shs157.92m.
“In accordance with Section 236 (d) of the East African Community Customs Management Act 2004 as amended, you are required to voluntarily bring the above mentioned Motor vehicle to the URA Nakawa Inland Port to undergo a re-verification process not later than 3:00 PM of 26th February 2021, without fail,” the letter reads in part.
