The widow of murdered city tycoon has criticized the report issued by Uganda’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Okoth Ochola on selected crimes in the country, saying suspects in the murder of her later hubby are many.
Elizabeth Wamala’s response is contained in nine-minute video released on Monday in which she points what she believes are loopholes in Ochola’s report.
“You are using your run away police officer as a scapegoat, you have named him as the only suspect in the late Wamalas murder and yet you are aware that the suspects in this murder are many. It was a big syndicate although the murder itself was masterminded by the police hence the resistance we have met in our way of seeking Justice,” Wamala posted on her Facebook account with the video in which she spils more information about the case.
She added, “The justice system in our country is being suffocated by the very people who went out to study law. I am not worried about offending anyone as long as I am saying the Truth. Ben Zziwa; just because I do not mention your name in this recording it does not mean that you have been exonerated. There is more to come.”
Wilberforce Wamala was murdered in cold blood at his home in Mutungo suburb, Kampala on February 3, 2012. He was killed with his gardener Sadiq Mugerwa and the killers vanished.
In his report issued last week, Ochola revealed that the suspect in Wamala’s murder was identified and is on the run.
