Uganda’s cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases of Ugandans are now 977, the Ministry of Health has said.
In a statement issued today, Dr. Henry G. Mwebesa, the Director General Health Services at Ministry of Health said that results of COVID-19 tests done on 07 July 2020 confirmed 6 new cases.
Of the six cases, four are truck drivers while two are contacts and alerts from Moyo and Tororo districts.
Additionally, 19 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at points of entry and were not permitted into Uganda.
“There are 210 active cases on admission; 189 are Ugandans, 18 foreigners and 3 refugees,” Dr Mwebesa (pictured) said, adding: “ It is important to note that foreigners and refugees are admitted in our health facilities but are not captured in the cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases.”
To-date, Uganda has a total of 904 COVID-19 recoveries and zero COVID-19 related death.
