Total Uganda Limited and Stanbic Bank Uganda have this morning announced a partnership that will see customers with prepaid Total Fuel Cards top-up more conveniently at over 1,500 Stanbic Agents across the country.
While launching the partnership at Total headquarters in Industrial Area in Kampala, the Total Uganda Managing Director, Obi Imemba said that in the pioneering spirit of Total, including innovation and convenience and other values for customers, they have continued to design solutions for customers to integrate technology into business in a safe and convenient way.
He noted that the partnership with Stanbic will enable customers transact with any agent of Stanbic throughout the country.
“…we demonstrate the value of innovation through designing solutions to customers. Integrating digital technology has enabled customers have seamless transactions with agent banking. With products and services that are more digital, more responsible and closer to their requirement, we anticipate our customers’ needs,” Imemba said.
He added that since the introduction of prepaid services in 2017, customers have been spending and planning on fuel and other services across the Total networks like car services, shopping, car wash among others. He says that in future Total card users will have other options of topping up through the use of internet banking, USSD or vis mobile money to minimize the risk associated with carrying cash.
The Chief Executive Stanbic Bank, Patrick Mweheire said, “Stanbic Bank is proud to be in partnership with Total Uganda in an initiative that will enable customers reload their fuel cards conveniently at any of our Stanbic Agents. Stanbic has the largest network of agents with over 1,500 across the country therefore offering great flexibility for over 40,000 total fuel card customers.”
“I’m also pleased to announce that Stanbic is first bank in Uganda to offer agent banking as an option for reloading Fuel Cards. Customers will have real time updates on their card balance as soon as a deposit is made at any agent and the service is free of charg,” he said.
“As Uganda’s leading bank, this initiative comes as part of the banks digitization drive. In the near future, our plan is to offer more digital payment options through our various platforms including: Flexipay, Internet Banking and the ATM,”said.
