Shocking details have emerged of why Charles Odongtho quit as talk-show host of the popular NBS Frontline show.
Highly credible sources in the corridors of the Kamwokya based TV station have intimated to us that reports of Odongtho’s departure are true and there are various reasons related to his exit.
Social media has been awash with news that Odongtho handed in his resignation on Monday citing unfavourable working conditions.
However, our sources with access to information from the high echelons at NBS, told this publication that Odongtho’s woes are linked to his performance and acts of indiscipline.
“Yes, he is no longer with NBS TV and i think the bosses were not happy with his performance and discipline related issues. He saw it coming and decided his days at NBS are over,” the source said.
The source did not divulge more details about the indiscipline and performance related issues that got Odongtho out of the station.
For the past two weeks, Charles has not been hosting the show raising speculation about what could have happened to him. He has been temporarily replaced by Simon Kaggwa Njala.
The sources further said, Odongtho could have seen the axe being sharpened for his head over the above issues and decided to save himself the humiliation of being knifed, hence the resignation.
Odongtho’s exit comes on the heels of an exodus of top reporters at the station. Joseph Sabiiti, Raymond Mujuni and Shawn Kimuli are some of the big names that have quit the station in recent months.
