A joint security operation has conducted in Mubende Municipality and surrounding areas targeting irregularly raised National flags, particularly those associated with the National Unity Platform party.
The operation is aimed to restore dignity to the national symbol, with authorities citing instances of flags being raised in inappropriate locations, including bars, toilets, brothels, and utility poles.
According to the Wamala region spokesperson SSP Lameck Kigozi, the residents and supporters of Natioanl Unity Platform are wrongly using the National flag which he says is unacceptable.
SSP Kigozi has warned the public against abusing state symbols, protected by law and said that those found misusing the National Flag will face prosecution.
Charles Kawuma a resident in Mubende District who is running for Mayor of Mubende west division says every ugandan has a right to use the uganda flag.
Sulaiman Ssegawa a resident in Mubende municipality says that what the police is doing is not right because you cannot fight a person who loves his country holding a national flag.
