RAMADHAN: ICFER Donates Food To Kamuli, Bugiri Muslims

Islamic Center for education and research (ICFER) has donted food items to Muslims in Busoga sub region as part of its outreach in the Holy month of Ramadhan.

ICFER is a national faith based non-for-profit organization founded by the visionary late sheik Twaibu Lutaaya in 1983 that has a long standing commitment and heritage in transforming the lives of vulnerable communities through empowering them with sustainable and long-term solutions to their problems.

ICFER (like the organization is fondly referred to) is involved with several local and international partners and philanthropists like Dar Al Ber Society( an international NGO) in empowering the vulnerable people in Uganda through specific programs and focus areas like Education support, Healthcare, Orphans & vulnerable children support, shelter construction, water projects, Human Capital development and economic empowerment.

Through these specific programs and focus areas, the last 35 years have seen ICFER record a number of milestones like handing out over 7000 full scholarships, it has supported over 10,000 beneficiaries in its orphan programs, built over 25 mosques, it has had over 150,000 people benefit from its water projects and it has recorded over 2000 beneficiaries from its healthcare program.

It’s in line with the the organisation’s humanitarian program under the Zakatul Fitr Food Packages initiative that ICFER has dedicated this month of Ramadthan to helping out the vulnerable communities of Bugiri and Iganga with food packages that will include 5kg of Posho, Rice and Sugar.1liter of cooking oil, 2 sacs of salt and 1 packet of flour.

On Saturday 26th may 2018, the organisation plans to hand out 480 food packages in the districts of Bugiri and Kamuli to schools, mosques, district imams and families.

“We also would like to end our charitable activity with a feast dubbed the Ramadthan Grand Iftari in Kamuli,” a statement from the organisation says.
