Rajiv (L) and his co-driver leaving the podium
Rajiv Ruparelia came out third in the fourth round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) held over the weekend in Kasanda district. The event was won by Jasi Mangati followed by Duncun Mubiru.
This Rally brought 23 Drivers.
Speaking after the event, Rajiv said: “Spectators were controlled and safety was taken under control. This is a big celebration not only for myself, but for us as a Federation and Clubs and it has set Standards.”
Rajiv reminded his fans, well-wishers and competitors of how he has been into rallying and competing for a year.
“It’s my first year in rallying a full Rally and this is my 4th event and I am Learning a lot including the recent Rally when I hit a dog. I also learnt a lot in Kenya,” he said.
Rajiv stayed away from everybody before the rally because people pile a lot of more pressure on him.
“God is great. I have obtained these Results today; in my first season of NRC I have managed to get a podium,” he said.
He also requested fans not to put pressure on drivers when things are not going well because it just makes things worse.
“Let’s make life fun and joyful; results can always keep coming. We just have to work on our consistency together,” Rajiv said.
He requested that PEARL of Africa rally must be done on cross roads because “I have talked to many Kenyan drivers and are willing to come over. We can send them invitations and make it a huge event…”
Rajiv also thanked the Main Sponsor Abid Alarm and Sammy Alarm who allowed the 23 drivers to have this Rally in their private Sugarcane Farm in Kasanda.
