dfcu Bank has joined hands with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University to support the renovation of Bwera Primary School in Kabale District. The Bank contributed UGX 20 million towards classroom refurbishment and new furniture as part of the 2025 Community Giveback Project led by Scholars and Alumni of the Program.

Established in 1983, Bwera Primary School currently educates 268 pupils. Despite its vital role in the community, the school has long struggled with inadequate facilities, including dilapidated classrooms, poor sanitation, lack of clean water, and limited furniture. The Giveback Project seeks to address these challenges by restoring classroom blocks, constructing modern sanitation facilities, providing desks, and installing a water harvesting system
