Globally, the Holy month of Ramadan brings communities together in reflection, unity, and prayer. As this year’s month of fasting and prayer for the Muslim community comes to an end, dfcu Bank joined its Muslim customers in an Iftar dinner (breaking of the fast) hosted by the Bank at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
In his remarks, Charles Mudiwa, the CEO of dfcu Bank noted that the event underscored dfcu’s dedication to building strong relationships with its customers beyond business transactions, focusing on the importance of community and inclusivity.
“In addition to fostering connections with the Bank’s customers and staff, Ramadan provides us with the opportunity to reflect, give thanks for shared blessings and come together for our overall good. As an organisation, these values and virtues reflect our own internal principles. We are delighted to host a diverse community of customers, staff, and partners in celebration of one of the key pillars of the Islamic faith.”

Our understanding of legacy and heritage helps us to recognize the significance of the holy month of Ramadan for our customers and the wider Islamic community,” Mudiwa added.
Mudiwa acknowledged the contribution of the Muslim community to the success of the Bank over the years, saying, “Your continued support and trust in dfcu is the reason we continue to grow. Tonight, we echo our commitment to serving you and supporting the Transformation of your Lives and Businesses through our more than 50 locations across the country.”
Delivering the message for the day, the Director of Communication, Research, and International Relations in the Office of the Supreme Mufti, Dr. Muhammad Musoke Kiggundu appealed to the guests to embrace generosity during Ramadan. He stated that Ramadan is a time for people to build bridges between themselves and humanity. He hailed dfcu for practicing the culture of sharing by giving back to its clients during Ramadan.

The Chief Guest at the Iftar dinner, Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu commended dfcu Bank for actively partaking in the commemoration of the Holy Month of Ramadan. He congratulated the Bank on marking 60 years of doing business and driving economic transformation in Uganda. He noted that Ramadan is a time of spiritual rejuvenation, sacrifice, and patience which is enhanced by community gatherings that allow for reflection on scripture and the spirit of camaraderie.
