Minister Anite and other UIA officials are visiting various parts of the country
Patriotic Ugandans have ‘gifted’ government with over 4000 acres of land that will be given out to investors to set up industries in industrial parks across the country.
The revelation was made by State Minister for Investment and Privatisation, Evelyn Anite, who is traversing the country to assess the investment environment.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Minister Anite thanked Ugandans from both the North and Western for adhering to President Museveni call to prioritize industrialization as the only avenue for job and wealth creation.
“Thank you Northern Uganda! We just concluded Investment land mobilization drive. Received 3,380 acres of land for industrial parks development; Nebbi 511, Madi-Okollo 515, Yumbe 1,200, Oyam 154, Lira 500, Dokolo 500.Presidential vision on securing the future is on a firm course,” she said.
In August 2021, Minister Anite made a similar announcement about Western Uganda after completing five day tour of the region, writing at the time, “It’s been 5 days of action across western Uganda implementing President Museveni’s directive to establish 25 parks across Uganda this Kisanja. We received 620 acres from Kisoro, 200 acres -Rukungiri, 50 acres – Kabale and 500 acres- Kabarole.”
If this land has indeed fallen into hands of Government, it brings total acreage of land secured to 4,130 acres.
However, Anite didn’t reveal which region will be the next stop, with Eastern and Central regions remaining and when she will conduct these visits.
