A strange disease has attacked Mityana South County in Mityana district, with a number of children reported to have lost their lives.
According to Mityana South MP, Henry Makumbi Kamya, residents in his county are living in untold fear over the disease.
He raised the matter during today’s plenary sitting where he called on the Ministry of Health to send a team of experts to Bukooba village that is most hit.
“The village is in panic I couldn’t provide solution. The children who have died, their bodies turns yellowish. To make matters worse, two ladies told me that in most of health centres, there are no vaccines of measles,” said Kamya.
He added: “We want to know why there is shortage of measles in health centres. We request ministry of health to come to bukooba village and save my people.”
Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah directed the Minister of Health to deal with the matter and report back to Parliament.
