Okwi Wants Cranes To Show Character Against Tanzania

Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre on Monday named his final 24-man squad for a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Tanzania.
During yesterday’s training, the Frenchman dropped 6 players.
Desabre’s team will host the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in a Group L match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sept. 8 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday.
But striker Emmanuel Okwi said the team must be positive from the first whistle.
“We must score as many goals to silence Tanzania at Namboole. We are hungry to go back to AFCON,” Arnold Okwi said after training on Monday.
Okwi, who was top scorer in the Tanzanian league with 20 goals last season admitted though it will be a tough game.
“I know Tanzania will be hungry to come and win because a defeat will put them in a terrible situation,” he added.
Uganda leads the group after beating Cape Verde 1-0 in the opening game last year while Tanzania and Lesotho are tied on one point after a 1-1 draw in their opening game.
