Uganda’s ruling NRM party has nominated President Museveni as national chairman and 2021 presidential flag-bearer for the 2021 general elections.
Museveni was officially nominated on Tuesday by the party Electoral Commission chairman Tanga Odoi.
The president’s nomination was seconded by NRM National Youth League chairman, Gaddafi Nassur.
After the nomination, Museveni spoke saying the priority now should be about saving lives from the dangerous COVID-19.
“I am amazed at how some people mix up issues. Some people have been talking about business, money, jobs when the issue globally is life. We want to save life. This is the biggest challenge,” Museveni said.
