Uganda’s Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng has revealed that face masks aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19 will be distributed door-to-door via Government structures.

She made the remarks today while launching the distribution of face masks.
She was joined by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister, Gen. Moses Ali, Evelyn Anite (State Minister for Investment and Privatisation), Robinah Nabbanja-State Minister for Health-General Duties, Dr. Diana Atwine-Health Ministry PS, Dr. Henry Mwebesa and Dr Opigo Jimmy amomng others.
Today, a total of 750,000 face masks were handed over by 5 different Ugandan companies today and they will be distributed to Amuru, Adjumani, Kyotera and Rakai Districts, Aceng said.
“Ministry of Health will continue to receive face masks from the various manufacturers daily and this will be distributed to all the districts countrywide. Masks will be distributed door-to-door via Government structures,” Aceng said.
She encouraged Ugandans to always wear a face mask when in public and continue to adhere to the Presidential Directives and Ministry of Health guidelines.
“All face masks are produced by Ugandan companies. Buy Uganda, Build Uganda,” she said.
