Makerere University through the Academic Registrar has invited applications from Ugandan, East African, S. Sudan and International applicants for the Bachelor of Chinese and Asian Studies under the private sponsorship scheme for the 2019/2020 academic year.
Alfred Masikye Namoah, the Academic Registrar says the duration of the programme is 3 years.
According to Masikye, each applicant should:
EITHER
Have the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five passes, or its equivalent and at least two principal passes at advanced level (UACE) or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting. (For day programme only candidates who sat for A’ Level in 2018, 2017 and 2016 are eligible to apply). For evening, candidates are not restricted on the year of sitting for A Level.
OR
Hold at least a second class/credit (or equivalent classification) diploma or
its equivalent from a recognised public or chartered institution. Certified
copies of academic transcripts and certificates (not photocopies of certified
copies) from the awarding institutions and one passport size photograph must be
submitted to Office 315 level three (3) Senate Building after applying online.
OR
BE A GRADUATE FROM A RECOGNISED PUBLIC OR CHARETERED UNIVERSITY. Certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates (not photocopies of certified copies) from the awarding Institutions and one Passport size photograph MUST be submitted to Office 315, Level three (3) Senate Building after applying online.
TUITION PER YEAR
Ugandans & E. Africans – 2,400,000 Ugandan shillings
Internationals – 3,360,000 Ugandan shillings
