Andrew Muwonge
The Electoral Commission has this morning declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate in the Kayunga LCV by-election Andrew Muwonge winner of yesterday’s poll.
According to official results released by the EC, Muwonge polled 31,830 votes. The National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Harriet Nakweede came second with 31,308 votes while Majid Nyanzi (Independent) managed 1287 votes.
These are out of 65332 valid votes cast for candidates.
As a result, Returning Officer Jennifer Kyobutungi declared Muwonge Kayunga LCV Chairperson elect.
