“Journey To The C-Suite”: Transformative Leadership Dev’t Program Unveiled

Officials from Stanbic and MultiChoice Uganda at the launch of the program

In a powerful show of support for Africa’s next generation of executive leaders, Stanbic Bank and MultiChoice Uganda jointly sponsored the official launch of Journey to the C-Suite (JTC)—a transformative leadership development program aimed at empowering high-potential mid-level professionals to rise into strategic C-suite roles.

Held at the elegant Skyz Hotel in Naguru, the evening brought together diplomatic dignitaries, seasoned executives, corporate stakeholders, and emerging leaders for a night of vision, mentorship, and purpose.

The occasion was graced by H.E. Mourad Amokrane, Algerian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Joash Maangi, Kenyan High Commissioner, Josephine Ossiya, CEO of the Capital Markets Authority, and Janet Navvuga Bugembe, Founder of the Journey to the C-Suite.

“This program is timely and visionary,” noted Ambassador Mourad Amokrane. “It recognizes what many overlook—that the future of leadership lies not only in boardrooms or political offices but in the capable hands of mid-level professionals who are ready to rise.”

Building on the success of its sister brand Journey to the Boardroom (JTB), which focuses on board governance and readiness, the new Journey to the C-Suite (JTC) program shifts the spotlight to executive leadership growth. Over a three-month period, the program will immerse participants in strategic learning, mentorship, case studies, and executive presence development—preparing them to assume influential roles such as CEO, CFO, and COO.

“If the boardroom is where vision is governed, the C-suite is where vision is born,” said Janet Navvuga Bugembe during her heartfelt address. “JTC exists for every brilliant leader in middle management who is underestimated—especially by themselves.”

The program’s tagline—Elevate. Lead. Thrive.—encapsulates its purpose: to uplift leadership mindsets, cultivate value-driven action, and produce thriving professionals who build thriving institutions.

The launch event also marked the beginning of the first JTC cohort, composed of carefully selected mid-level professionals poised to become Africa’s future C-suite game changers.
