On Friday May 31st, I&M Bank hosted two community-oriented health drives as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. The drives are part of a streak of CSR initiatives the bank intends to engage in as  lead up to the I&M@50 (golden jubilee) celebrations, set for June 28.

At Kingdom Kampala, the I&M Bank main offices, the bank partnered with Wazi Vision, who conducted a complimentary eye check-up for tens of neighbors and the general public.

The initiative aimed to provide free eye examinations and raise awareness about eye health among the community.

I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow and the institution’s Executive Director, Sam Ntulume, were among those who received the eye check-up services.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to giving back to the community, especially as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. We are proud to support the communities we serve and promote their health and well-being,” Bairstow said.

Arthur Bamwite, Customer Experience Associate at Wazi Vision said that the exercise was successful and met their expectations. Thirty-five people underwent thorough eye checkups. Both I&M Bank and Wazi Vision agreed further their partnership in order to reach and impact more people that might need help.

Meanwhile, the I&M Kawempe Branch organized a blood donation drive, in partnership with the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services. At the end of the drive, over forty (40) units of blood were collected from donors from both the community and the bank staff.

Mark Luwagga, the Branch Manager I&M Bank Kawempe, expressed his pride and gratitude for the community’s participation in the blood donation drive.

“We are thankful for the support from both our staff and the community,” said Mark Luwagga. “Collecting over 40 units of blood is no easy feat, and it highlights the spirit of generosity and solidarity within Kawempe as a community. This drive not only helps save lives, but also strengthens our bond with the community we serve.”
