Uganda currently has 256 active cases on admission, the Ministry of Health has said.
In a statement issued today, Dr Henry G. Mwebesa (pictured), the Director General Health Services at the Ministry of Health said that of the above active cases, (143 are Ugandans while 113 are Foreigners.
The Ministry also confirmed 4 (2 truck drivers and 2 alerts and contacts of previously confirmed cases) new COVID-19 cases from samples tested on 21 June 2020.
Total COVID-19 confirmed cases are 774 while Recoveries stand at 631. The Ministry added that 14 foreign truck drivers tested positive and were handed over to their respective countries of origin.
Uganda is yet to record a single COVID-19 related death.
In a related development, Senior Press Secretary to the President, Don Innocent Wanyama has revealed that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will address the country today, Monday, at 8pm, giving an update on the country’s fight against COVID-19 and related issues.
