Uganda’s Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng (pictured) has said the incident that happened in Lira over the weekend where she was seen in a crowd without wearing a face mask is regrettable.
Appearing before Parliament’s Health Committee today, Aceng said the incident is “a lesson” to her now that she has entered the “political arena where crowds are expected to gather.”
She advised that the politicians to prepare early before they are to meet even the few people as required in the guidelines issued by the Electoral Commission in its revised roadmap aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19 during campaigns.
Aceng insisted that she never did anything wrong since she was carrying out a demonstration to the public on how to put on the face mask hence there is no need for her to apologize as it has been called by many Ugandans.
