Gunmen in Namisindwa District have robbed 24 million shillings from a businesswoman.
The incident happened on Tuesday in Bukokho village, Bukokho sub-county after unknown gunmen raided the home of Jessica Buyombe, a coffee dealer in Bumbo trading center.
According to John Wafula, the LCIII Chairperson of Bukokho sub-county, the gunmen broke into the house at midnight and demanded money from Buyombe. They later fired three bullets into the air to scare away residents who had responded to the alarm.
Julie Namara, the Namisindwa Deputy Resident District Commissioner said that the police are investigating the matter. She warned traders against keeping large sums of money in the house.
