Gov’t To Set Up Centralized Tax Communication System

The Ministry of Finance has revealed plans to establish a centralised platform to facilitate communication and publication of tax related matters to the public.

The details are contained in the procurement notice issued by the Ministry of Finance in which it is calling for interested bidders to offer consultancy services to construct the platform.

“The Ministry of Finance through the Resource Enhancement and Accountability Programme (REAP) has allocated funds to be used for procuring of consultancy services to build a centralized platform to facilitate communication and publication of tax related matters.                               The Entity invites sealed bids from eligible firms for the provision of the above services. Bidding shall be conducted in accordance with the procedures contained in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, Cap 205 and the Regulations made under the Act and is open to all bidders/consultants,” the notice reads in part.

For any interested bidder to participate, they will be required to purchase the bid document upon payment of a non-refundable fee UGX100,000 and the interested Bidders may make payment to the URA collection account at commercial banks, and the contract is expected to be signed on the 23rd March 2026.

The Ministry of Finance has also issued procurement notices for the establishment of the Business process re-engineering, design, development, implementation and commissioning of an integrated INVEST UGANDA – Digital Investment Management System (DIMS) for Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) that will oversee the digital management of investments proposals in Uganda and the bids for this procurement are expected to be opened on 22nd January 2026.
