Fred Bamwesigye Appointed New UCAA Director General

Fred Bamwesigye (pictured) has been confirmed as the Director General of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).

Bamwesigye’s appointment is contained in a letter dated September 28, 2021.

“In accordance with Part IV Section 14 (1) of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority Act, Cap. 354, I hereby appoint you as Director General, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, under the following Terms and Conditions of Service,” Works and Transport Minister, Gen. Katumba Wamala’s letter reads in part.

The 3-year contract comes after one year of successful execution of UCAA duties by Bamwesigye who was at the time in acting capacity. He is expected to report to work today.

“UCAA administration has already congratulated Bamwesigye upon his confirmation. We join the aviation fraternity in congratulating Mr. Fred K. Bamwesigye following appointment as Director General of UCAA. We wish him tremendous success in steering the Authority in maintaining the highest standards of safety, security and service in civil aviation,” a tweet Friday afternoon reads.

Bamwesigye prides in over 12 years of experience at UCAA having worked as Director in charge Human Resources and Administration as well as the Deputy Director General.
