Four Die In Easter Sunday Accident Along Masaka-Kampala Highway

Four people were killed in an accident at Wamatovu in Katende along Masaka- Kampala highway around 8:15 pm on Easter Sunday.

Faridah Nampiima, the Public Relations Officer of Traffic and Road Safety in Uganda Police Force-UPF, says that the accident involved a Fuso truck registration number UBB 288W, Bajaj Boxer motorcycle reg no. UDG 002S and Premio Reg no UAV 137E.

According to Nampiima, the deceased include one female adult, one female minor and two male adults. Three other victims were rushed to various clinics for medical attention. Police are yet to establish the identities of the accident victims.

“Investigations are underway to establish what caused the accident. The motorcycle and the Premio involved have been towed and parked at Mpigi Police station as efforts to remove the Fuso box body that is loaded with cement is underway,” said Nampiima in a brief statement.

She appeals to all drivers and other road users travelling back from Easter Holidays to drive with discipline on the road.
