Betting Company, Fortebet, has committed to supporting young talent in the country.
Besides its main business line, Fortebet, the Sports betting company with the largest branch network in Uganda and the highest betting odds is also highly committed to Social Community Responsibility (SCR)-where it gives back to communities.
It is in this vein that Fortebet, like it has done before, donated a brand new football to the under privileged children in Bweyogerere, Wakiso district. The ball was handed over on Tuesday to Proway Sports Academy that is based in Bweyogerere but plays near Mandella National stadium.
Fortebet Media Manager, John Nanyumba said that, “This is not the first time we are being part of talents development in Uganda. One of our goals in Uganda is to see sporting talents develop to greater heights because sport is one of the high earning sectors across the world.” Nanyumba added that, “We have plenty of sporting items that we shall continue to give out all over Uganda. We don’t want to see young footballers like these one playing very bad balls like we found them playing.”
The football recipients could not hide their happiness. The team captain, James Okello said, “We are very lucky because no one expected that you (Fortebet) would come here and give us a football. We are extremely very happy because we have been playing a very bad ball as you can see it.”
Fortebet has not only invested in young talent development but also in the Uganda Premier League, a number of CSR activities and of recent, the company is giving back a number of gifts to its clients across its branches.
