Two Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) MPs are involved in in a bitter verbal clash over the proposed de-gazettement of Mbale forest reserve.
Jack Wamanga Wamai of Mbale municipality and Nathan Nandala Mafabi of Budadiri West, who is also the FDC secretary general and BCU chairperson, both from Bugisu sub-region, have been exchanging words over the matter.
“We have no issue with him, the issue he is fighting for is the forest which he has an interest in,” Mafabi told journalists.
He added, “I have never, never had any public asset in my life. What i have, i bought.”
Mafabi also hit at Wamai for conspicuously disappearing from parliament when the house was discussing crucial bills like the constitution amendment and mobile money tax saying Mbale’s voice was not heard.
In response, Wamai accused Nandala of engaging in small fights (of the forest) with party members instead of uniting the party and preparing it to take over power.
