Ethiopia’s PM To Visit Uganda, Boost Bilateral Ties

Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed will on Friday make a two-day state visit to Uganda where he will be awarded a medal of honor, said a statement on Wednesday.

A Ugandan State House statement said Abiy will be awarded The Pearl of Africa Grand Master medal at a function where Ugandan heroes will be celebrated on Saturday.

The medal is awarded to heads of state who have made a contribution towards the independence struggle of Africa.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Equatorial Guinea’s leader Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo are some of the African leaders to whom Uganda has given the medal.

During Abiy’s visit, he is also expected to hold a meeting with host President Yoweri Museveni aimed at boosting the bilateral relations.
