Ecobank Uganda Receives Two Prestigious ISO Certifications

Ecobank Uganda has received two prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certificates, Business Focus reports.

These ISO certifications from the British Standards Institution (BSI) give Ecobank Uganda a competitive advantage and publicly demonstrate the bank’s legal and regulatory compliance and commitment to the prevention or reduction of large-scale process disruptions in the event of an incident.

The certifications apply to all core banking processes at its head office, branches, disaster recovery and business resumption sites.

Speaking about these certifications, Cheick Travaly, Ecobank Group, Regional Executive Central & Southern Africa said “These certifications are a clear indication of the strength of the bank’s investments in people, processes and technology and demonstrates our commitment to ensuring sustainability of our business while enhancing  customer experience”.

He added that “As a member of the Ecobank Group, pan-African bank, we subscribe to international best practice in both Information Security Management Systems (ISO/IEC27001) and Business Continuity Management Systems (ISO 22301) and certification by an independent external standards institution affirms this.”

Other Ecobank’s affiliates in the Central and Southern Africa Region namely Kenya, Rwanda and Zimbabwe also have recently received these prestigious certifications.

The certification resulted from a comprehensive audit conducted by the independent and highly respected BSI, the United Kingdom’s national standards body which enjoys the prestige of a Royal Charter. BSI is a business improvement and standards company that helps organisations make excellence a habit.

Commenting on this great milestone, Ecobank Uganda Managing Director, Clement Dodoo (in featured photo) said: “We are delighted that after more than 12 months of preparations, our BCM and Information Security processes have been found to meet the ISO standards. Our customers should therefore be rest assured that we have put in place processes and controls that guarantee safety and continuity of their business and interactions with us.”

Ecobank Uganda is a subsidiary of the Ecobank Group, the leading independent pan-African banking group.
