President Yoweri Museveni should explain why Pearl Dairies Uganda products including Lato milk is being blocked from accessing Kenyan market.
Manjiya County MP, John Baptist Nambeshe claims that Museveni could be partly having a hand in Pearl Dairies Uganda’s hardship in supplying its Lato milk to Kenya .
Kenya has severally blocked Lato milk from accessing the Kenyan market citing its lack of required standard.
Uganda has over 30 dairy companies including Brookside Dairy Limited which is a Kenyan company .

Nambeshe probe was backed by Jinja East MP, Paul Mwiri over government failure to secure market for Lato milk in Kenya
Nambeshe said that the EAC is being misused by the head of states .
The speaker of parliament asked Nambeshe to substantiate his allegation by tabling to parliament the evidence on the matter.
The Minister of trade and industry Amelia Kyambadde had told parliament that Kenya rejected Uganda’s daily products like that of Lato milk on claims that there are counterfeit and substandard despite them being certified by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards.
Giving a statement before parliament yesterday on the continued denial of Uganda’s daily products accessing the Kenyan market, Kyambadde said that although Uganda has made several engagements with the authorities in Kenya, the matter is still the subject of discussion and negotiation between the two countries.
However the speaker Rebecca Kadaga expressed her disappointment with Government for continuing to open Uganda’s market to the neighboring countries while Ugandan farmers are suffering.
