Allan Tayebwa: Meet The Newly Appointed Honorary Consul Of The Common Wealth Of Dominica In Uganda

Allan Tayebwa has been officially appointed as Honorary Consul of the Common Wealth of Dominica in Uganda, marking an important and exciting step in advancing trade, standard alignment, tourism branding & connectivity between the two nations.

As part of the official process, Mr. Tayebwa presented his credentials to Hon.John Mulimba the State Minister of Foreign Affairs. The presentation signifies formal recognition by the host country and grants him the authority to carry out consular duties in Uganda. The Commonwealth of Dominica maintains a diplomatic presence in Uganda, through which official engagements and recognitions are facilitated.

Addressing the press at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Regional Affairs) on Friday, Mr. Tayebwa expressed his appreciation, stating: “I am deeply honored and happy for this day. Viewing this appointment as both a privilege and a responsibility. I look forward to strengthening the relationship between Uganda and the Commonwealth of Dominica, fostering commercial diplomacy through trade, investment, and meaningful partnerships that will benefit our people and businesses.”

He further noted that Dominica’s key economic activities which tourism and agriculture present excellent opportunities for Uganda, particularly in sectors like coffee.

It was also highlighted that there is no visa requirement between Uganda and Dominica for tourism or business travel, and that the government of Dominica is working with Ethiopian Airlines to shorten the route from Uganda.

The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Mulimba while welcoming him on board emphasized the critical need for focusing on standards, consumer demands, and the effective marketing of Uganda’s products, such as Coffee, in trade. He concluded by stressing the importance of strengthening these partnerships.
