dfcu Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming lives, businesses, and communities across Uganda through its “60 Acts of Kindness”  staff campaign with all the Bank’s staff around the country taking part in a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives funded by both individual staff and bank contributions. This campaign is part of dfcu Bank’s celebration of its 60-year legacy as a Ugandan bank that has played a significant role in the socioeconomic development of the country, since its origins as a development finance institution.

From May 2024, the Bank’s employees have actively participated in numerous community-impact activities, demonstrating the bank’s commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and addressing pressing social needs.

As part of its community outreach efforts, dfcu has held several activities which include:

A visit to St. Lillian Jubilee Home in Gayaza. This home, founded by Sister Lucy Amoit, cares for over 50 children with disabilities, who have been abandoned by their families. The dfcu team donated essential items, including food, diapers, and clothing, and presented a cheque of UGX 1,000,000 to support the home’s operations.

A visit to Support Disabled Children Home in Ggaba, where the Bank’s team donated much-needed supplies to the organization which takes care of over 50 children with special needs such as autism, cerebral palsy and down syndrome. The items shared with the home included sugar, rice, washing soap, posho flour, porridge mix, beans, peas, cooking oil, detergent, liquid soap, bathing soap, milk, toothpaste, toilet paper and fresh vegetables.

Charles Mudiwa,  CEO of dfcu Bank, commented on the importance of these initiatives, stating, “These new initiatives reflect our core values and our commitment to supporting our communities and protecting the environment. We believe that by working together, we can drive positive change and build a brighter future for everyone. dfcu’s 60 Acts of Kindness campaign reflects our commitment to making a positive impact on society, as we mark 60 years of being the financial provider of choice for millions of Ugandans.”
