NBS TV Positions Self To Dominate Luganda News Bulletin

NBS TV, one of the fastest growing media houses in Uganda is positioning itself to dominate Luganda news in the country.

Whereas its 7PM  ‘Amasengejje’ Bulletin has been doing well in recent years, sources at the Kamwokya based media house reveal that the station managers want to attract new views and beat NTV’s ‘Akawungeezi’ and Bukedde’s ‘Agataliko Nfufu’ by miles.

One of the secret to achieving this is attract the best talent on the market especially Luganda news anchors with not only experience, but with big following and attraction touch.

It’s against this background that NBS TV which is Next Media Group has embarked upping its team by recruiting more news anchors.

The latest is Hatma Nalugwa Sekaaya (in featured photo), a prolific journalist who has been persuaded away from rival NTV.

With 11 years experience in journalism, Nalugwa has been anchoring Luganda news at NTV.

She joins a great team of talented journalists to anchor the NBS TV’s ‘Amasengejje’ news.

“I am happy to announce that we have a new addition to the Next Media Family. Please welcome Miss Hatma Nalugwa Sekaaya our newest baby to NBS Amasengejje,” read a memo sent to NBS staff by Paul Lwanga, Chief of People Office at the Next Media Services.

Nalugwa isn’t the first to cross from NTV to NBS.

Rukh-Shana Namuyimba, Raymond Mujuni, Solomon Sserwanjja, MC Kats and Douglas Lwanga are some of the top talents that have left NTV for greener pastures at NBS.

Others include Wisdom Kiyonga, Dean Lubowa Saava and Sheila Mugisha, Anita Fabiola and, Samuel Walugembe among others.

It should be noted that in July this year, NBS Television, the flagship brand of Next Media Services, poached Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa from BBS TV. Mukasa is famous for his articulate Luganda and appealing voice.
