Mulwana Legacy Lives On 4 Years after His Death

Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) in partnership with Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has again organized a business symposium in honour of late James Mulwana, a great entrepreneur who inspired many into business.

The one day open business symposium is scheduled for March25, 2017 in the UMA Multipurpose Hall; under the theme “Agribusiness; Harnessing sustainable opportunities for the Youth.”

According to Nkuutu K. Mubaraka, the Acting Executive Director at UMA, the theme is in line with the current climate change effects in Uganda on agriculture and food security and the Uganda Vision 2020 which is to take Uganda to the middle income status.

The Symposium will be open to the general public in a debate setting managed by a panel of judges or moderators that are well versed with agribusiness, climate change and how well the economy or people can survive through the tough climate changes faces.

One of Uganda’s most successful businessman and industrialist, Mulwana died in January 2013. He died at the age of 76. At the time of his death, he was the chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Uganda Limited.

He was a member and founder of Uganda Manufacturers Association and served as its chairman in the late 90’s.
