Uganda People’s Defence Force ( UPDF) Spokesperson, Brigadier Richard Karemire has confirmed that 17 more bodies resulting from yesterday’s boat accident on Lake Victoria have been retrieved. This brings the total number of the recovered dead bodies to 30.
“Rescue Operations on L. Victoria. Update:
By 11:00 am. 17 more bodies have beed (sic) recovered. The team of divers has increased to include those from Police, UPDF Marine and Airforce. So far the number of the dead retrieved is 30 in total. Those alive remain 26. The operation continues.
It is a grieving moment for the Nation. RIP,” Karemire said on his official social media platforms.
