Dfcu Bank Speaks Out On Attempted Robbery, Assault Of Employees At Bwaise Branch

dfcu bank has spoken out on  an attempted robbery and assault of employees at its Bwaise branch in Kampala.

In a statement dated February 12, 2019, dfcu bank says several armed men ambushed the bank’s staff as they were closing up to leave the branch after work.

“Unfortunately, during the attack, some of our employees were physically assaulted. The affected staff are currently receiving medical attention and counseling. We are doing everything to ensure they get back to their feet as quickly as possible,” the bank’s statement reads in part.

It adds: “In addition to reporting the attempted robbery to the police and supporting with the investigations, we are reviewing the security measures in place to enhance the safety and security of our people.”

It revealed that the Bwaise branch will remain closed today as investigations are underway.  

“In the meantime, customers are being served at the Makerere and Kawempe branches which are the closest in proximity,” the statement added.
