British Actor With Ugandan Parents Nominated For Oscar Award

British Actor with Ugandan roots, Daniel Kaluuya has been nominated for an Oscar Award.

He achieved international recognition for his performance in the 2017 horror film Get Out, which earned him significant critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including nominations for an AcademyBAFTA, and Golden Globe award for Best Actor. That same year, he received a nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award.

Kaluuya had previously hailed his mum for raising him single-handedly.

Daniel’s father, Stephen, told the Sunday People of his desperation to be in his son’s life again

Londoner Daniel saluted his Ugandan mum Damalie Namusoke after landing the best actor gong at America’s NAACP Image Awards.

On Tuesday, he was nominated for an Oscar.

Daniel, 28 – star of ­horror comedy movie Get Out – also said he and his inner circle chat on WhatsApp whenever they feel down.

He said: “I’m here ­because of love. Mum, thank you for helping me be a man. I feel very appreciative of my m​u​m, my girl, my family, my friends.

“We WhatsApp when we’re feeling low and stuff. It all contributes to making you stand straight.”

Daniel was a baby when his dad Stephen, 59, disappeared from his life. The Sunday People told how Stephen wants a reunion.
