UNBS Lists Fake Electrical Products On Ugandan Market

Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has revealed a list of fake electrical products flooding the Ugandan market.

In a statement issued on June3, 2017, the standards agency warns the public against buying the said electrical and electronic products.

“Uganda National Bureau of Standards will continue to seize these products and have them destroyed and culprits prosecuted,” UNBS said.

While UNBS mandated to among other things carry out inspection of imported and locally manufactured products in order to ensure that only quality and safe goods enter and are sold in the country, Uganda has remained with unprecedented substandard and fake products on the market.
