Uganda, Russia Agree To Strengthen Technical Cooperation

Uganda and the Russian Federation have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in the technical and scientific fields.

This agreement was reached at during the Second Session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic , Scientific and Technical Cooperation which took place last week in Moscow.

At the meeting, Russia was represented by H.E. Alexey Volin, the Co-Chairman of the Russian Party of the Commission, Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.

The Ugandan delegation was led by the Co-Chairman of the Ugandan Party of

the Commission, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Cooperation)  of  the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Henry Okello Oryem.

The lists of the participants are attached hereto (Annexes I and II of the Communique).

The Session was held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding. The Russian and Ugandan Parties (hereinafter — the “Parties”) confirmed their desire to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields and underlined the importance of the Commission as a mechanism for consolidating and expanding cooperation between the two nations.

The Parties reviewed the current state and development prospects of relations between the two countries and agreed on decisions and recommendations, as follows.
