Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party candidate in the Kyadondo East By-election is not a registered voter in the area, according to information from the Electoral Commission.
According to reports, FDC’s Apollo Kantinti’s electoral area is Mukono municipality implying he is not a registered voter in the constituency the opposition figure is trying to represent.
The Kyadondo East By-election fell vacant after court nullified the 2016 results.
The high court ruling followed a successful petition by William Sitenda Sebalu(NRM) candidate who had been floored in the February 18 election. The Kantinti appealed the decision but lost.
The EC boss said the commission is critically analyzing the judgement so that the mistakes that were pointed out by court are not repeated. He also said the penalty for the individuals responsible for the irregularities shall be communicated.
