Parliament Spends Shs54m On Iftar Fete

The just concluded Iftar fete held by Parliament saw the institution spend Shs54.87m, Business Focus can reveal.

The meal prepared to break the fast for Muslims who are undergoing the Ramadan fasting period took place at Parliamentary parking on Friday evening.

In bid documents seen by this site, three companies including Africana Hotel Ltd, Kampala Serena Hotel and Sheraton Hotel Company competed for the deal.

However, the Parliament Contract Committee awarded the contract to Africana Hotel.

According to the bid documents, the two bidders lost out on the multi-million deal at the preliminary analysis stage.
