National Drug Authority Lab Gets ISO Accreditation Award

The National Drug Authority (NDA)’s Quality Control Laboratory has received the ISO 17025 Accreditation award for testing of male latex condoms.

Uganda is the second country in East and Central Africa to receive the internationally recognized accreditation by the American ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board   (ANAB).

Fredrick Ssekyana, NDA Spokesperson says the achievement is another additional milestone to the testing of drugs and medical devices, especially   after having attained the WHO Prequalification recognition in January 2015.

“This is indeed another assurance that the NDA implements acceptable a quality management system which produces accurate and reliable test results,” said Ssekyana.

He added that this gives a further assurance to the entire population that the products locally manufactured or imported into Uganda that are tested by NDA and released to the market are of good quality, safe and effective.
