Military Police Boss Is New Deputy IGP

Uganda’s Military Police commander, Brigadier Sabiiti Muzei has been appointed the country’s deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) in new changes effected by the president.

In the same communication on Sunday, President Museveni revealed that he had knifed the country’s IGP, General Kale Kayihura and and Security Minister, Henry Tumukunde.

“In exercise of powers granted to me by the Constitution, I have appointed Gen Elly Tumwine as the Security Minister. I have also appointed Mr Okoth Ochola as the Inspector-General of Police. He will be deputised by Brig Sabiiti Muzeei,” a message on Museveni’s twitter account read.

Sabiiti was last April appointed as the commander of the Military Police. He had previously served as deputy commander of the Special Forces Command.
