Lumumba Asks Kasese Officials To Prioritize NRM Supporters

Justine Kasule Lumumba, the National Resistance Movement-NRM party Secretary General has asked Kasese district officials to prioritise NRM supporters when it comes to service delivery, URN reports.

She issued the directive on Saturday during celebrations to commemorate the victory of NRM candidates in newly created Town Councils, Women Councils and village council elections at Kinyamaseke primary school.

NRM took most of the seats. Lumumba noted that although, the Kasese LC V Chairperson belongs to the opposition Forum for Democratic Change, NRM supporters should be given first priority.

Lumumba noted that this is the only way NRM will galvanize it support in the opposition stronghold. She appointed Henry Bwambale, the loser of the Kisinga Sub county Chairperson election as the NRM Mobiliser for Rwenzori Sub region.

The State Minister for Agriculture, Christopher Kibanzanga warned elected leaders against discrimination. Kibanzanga, who represents Bughendera Constituency in Bundibugyo district, urged the elected leaders to provide leadership as opposed to playing politics if Rwenzori is to attain peace and development.

Kibanzanga says where as it is important to remain loyal to the party, sidelining those who don’t believe in the party will alienate them and eventually cripple NRM. He explained that the reason NRM repeatedly loses polls in Kasese is because of the leadership crisis.
