Ex LoP Winnie Vows To Expose MPs Contributing Money To FDC

The former Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winfred Kiiza has attacked Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leadership to which she belongs for the continued accusations of MPs reportedly not remitting their monthly contribution to the largest opposition party in the country.

She described the allegations as unfortunate because she has always kept records of fellow MPs fulfilling their monthly obligation.

Kiiza made the remarks on Tuesday during the official handover of LoP office to her successor, Betty Aol Acan, the Gulu District Woman MP.

Kiiza further described the changes as normal, noting that many people have misunderstood the reasons for the change of leadership in Parliament to the extent that others have gone an extra mile that the changes were because members of FDC have not been contributing to the Party.

“It is really unfortunate because as far as I know, since I came to the 8th Parliament, I have contributed to the Party. I will handover to you a list of FDC members who have been contributing including the Independent MPs who have been contributing monthly to the cause of the headquarters of FDC,” Kiiza said.

The Kasese Woman District Woman MP added: “You know sometimes, small issues make people lose morale [especially] people who have been sacrificing for the building of the Party. When it becomes an issue of media that they have not been contributing to the Party when they know that on their pay slips, they have seen a deduction in the names of FDC, it demoralizes them.”

Betty Aol Acan reiterated  her earlier  call for unity and peace building amongst all opposition parties if they are to achieve a common goal [of removing president Yoweri Museveni from power].
