Ecobank Donates To Fasting Muslims

Ecobank Uganda has donated to the fasting Muslim community, proving why it is a Pan-African bank.

The bank has recently been donating food stuffs to the needy and unprivileged Muslims in the Mosques of Ggaba, Old Kampala and Wandegeya.

Primrose Kobusingye, the Head of Marketing & Communications at Ecobank Uganda, who led the bank’s officials in this charitable cause, said giving back to the Muslim community in this Holy month of Ramadan is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

“Our capable team works effortlessly in a bid to give back to this community in any way possible,” Kobusingye said.

At Ggaba Mosque, the bank did not only give out food stuffs, but also donated Shs10m in cash.

The Muslims were so grateful and thanked Eco Bank Uganda for the generous gesture towards their faith and prayed for continued prosperity of the banking institution.

Dolika Banda Retires

In a related development,  Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, (ETI), the Lomé, Togo -based parent company of the Ecobank Group, announced the departure of Ms Dolika Banda from its Board of directors.

Ms. Dolika Banda, who served as a non-executive director on the Board of ETI from October 2014 retired from the Board at the last Annual General Meeting of ETI held on April 24, 2018 following the expiration of her mandate.

“The Board, Management and staff of ETI express their gratitude to Ms. Dolika Banda for her significant contributions to the Ecobank Group and her renewed commitment to continue to assist and support the Group as and when necessary,” Ecobank Transnational Incorporated said in a statement on Wednesday.
