Departing Musisi Meets Lukwago In Last Chance Reconciliation Effort

Outgoing Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi has met the city Lord Mayor,  Erias Lukwago in what appears to be a last chance gesture to reconcile.

Musisi met Lukwago and his deputy on Wednesday morning, much to the surprise of many at City Hall, sources there say.

“My team and I called on the Lord Mayor and his Deputy,” Musisi posted on her Facebook page accompanied with photos of their meeting.

Musisi announced her resignation in October after ten years of service as KCCA ED.

During her reign, she clashed with Lukwago with the latter accusing her of ‘doing all the work’ and rendering him a lame duck mayor.

In a 21-page letter dated October 15, 2018, Musisi said she will cease being executive director of KCCA effective December 15, 2018.

Museveni first appointed Musisi in 2011 on a three-year contract. The contract was renewed for the third term in April 2017 amidst rumours that Musisi had submitted her resignation during her second term after being accused by some National Resistance Movement (NRM) politicians including Museveni himself for causing massive electoral loss for the ruling party in the city due to her high handedness approach.
