CMC Offers Free Defensive Driving Skills To Suzuki Drivers

At least 30 Suzuki drivers have been equipped with defensive driving skills courtesy of the Copper Motor Corporation (CMC) Uganda Limited.

The trainees were from the Belgian Development Agency and G4S Security Company among other companies.

CMC Chief Trainer, Aloysious Kawooya says CMC found it imperative to skill their clients/drivers with more knowledge regarding car safety following the increased cases of road accidents in Uganda.

“We do not want to see our clients and other Ugandans dying in our cars and that is why we launched the Customer month to further train drivers. The good thing the lessons are free,” Kawooya , adding that the trainings are both theoretical and practical in nature.

“The training focuses on ensuring the safe operation of motor vehicles by employees in the workplace. CMC has strong values when it comes to improving road safety through lifting the skill levels of drivers and since we sell only new cars that come with advanced safety technologies, we found it vital to teach our clients and drivers how to use these technologies effectively on the road,” he said.

Kawooya, who is also CMC Service Manager, noted that over 300 drivers of CMC brands have been trained in defensive driving since CMC launched the Customer Month three years ago.

In September, CMC, which is also the sole distributor of Ford, trained Mbarara drivers under Ford’s annual programme-Driving Skills For Life (DSFL).

CMC is also the sole distributor of Mazda, New Holland tractors, Suzuki, Eicher trucks and MAN trucks and buses.
