Bobi Wine: Ghetto Has Come To Parliament

Kyadondo East newly elected MP,   Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has said it’s not him that has entered Uganda’s Parliament, but rather the ghetto.

The Ugandan popular artist made the remarks on Tuesday afternoon at Parliament before taking his oath.

“It feels like a great responsibility has been entrusted on my shoulders. You can count on me, I have walked into Parliament. I have always said that if Parliament cannot come to ghetto, then Ghetto will come to Parliament. So I want you to know that the ghetto has come to Parliament. These expectations, we are going to handle it together, it isn’t all about me,” Bobi said.

He added: “I am only a rallying point, what we are going to deliver and change, we are going to change it together. My role is to give people confidence and make them believe in democracy and together, we are going to get there.”

Bobi was declared Kyadondo East MP on June 29, 2017 after garnering 25,659 (77%) in the By-election, while NRM’s Mike Sebalu got 4556 of the votes. FDC’s Kantinti managed 1832 of the 33310 votes cast.
